I am Mary Elaine Kiener, the “ME” at ASK ME House LLC, and its Creative Energy Officer. My website and blog are located at www.askmehouse.com.

My daily purpose—in both my life and my work—is to continually “choose courageous wellbeing: inside me, with you, and among us”. My passion is exploring life’s puzzles and challenges through a process of felt-sensed listening and learning at the edges of life’s unfolding journeys.

I’m not quite sure I’ve figured out “what” it is I do—especially now that I’m semi-retired and get to choose when and where to bring my energy. Essentially, I bring along a diverse set of skills and experiences that add a unique breadth and depth to my “doing”—depending a great deal on who I’m doing it with and for what purpose. More importantly, I have come to appreciate the intrinsic value of who and how I am “being” while creating and holding space for authentic engagement, learning and growth.

I’ve been told I’m a wonderful listener—especially to those faint whisperings at the learning edges of peoples’ lives. I’ve also been described as a “transformation midwife” [and, NO, I don’t “birth actual babies”]. Rather, I help others “come back home to themselves”.

In many ways, I’ve spent a lifetime as a convener, beginning as a young adult by organizing, preparing and hosting dinner parties, followed by decades of designing, coordinating and facilitating both meetings and continuing education programs. I have been a decades-long advocate of “distance” learning and have become a fierce champion for the freshly emerging potentials available for hybrid gatherings. In addition, I especially enjoy the challenge of incorporating elements of creative expression as a means of integrating a more holistic body-mind-spirit approach to gatherings.

Although I’ve been a part of the broader CPL community for over 10 years now, I am a new member of the CPL “Team” as I step into the role of Director of Art of Convening Programs. I am excited for the opportunity to be of service at this time and bring an open-hearted attitude of “mentern” (i.e., as a combination of mentor/wisdom sharer as well as intern/continuing learner).
