LUNCHEON DATES & INFO

Leading the Whole Person Leadership Way

12:00-1:00 pm CT US
Each session includes resources to reinforce the learnings.

  • with WPL4W Alum Ellen Palmer, MBA and years of CFO/COO/CHRO experience

WPL4W Co-founder Lynn Nelson, president of LIN PR

Ellen Palmer brings a fresh perspective to considering wholeness and well-being.

Do you seem to be locked in stress & overwhelm? It’s not you, it’s your physiology! Ellen specializes in supporting women caught in habitual stress. She works at the level of the nervous system to break the stress/overwhelm loop, so you can access your full potential.

Resiliency is your ability to recover from difficulty. It’s the core capacity any leader needs to thrive in 2023 and beyond. Take the increased complexity of our time and the layered crisis we face, add it to the usual set of leadership challenges–we understandably end up trapped in a loop of stress and overwhelm.

Over time, this decreases our daily functioning and productivity, and it destroys our passion and joy. We must learn to activate a resilient response quickly and more often to create the positive impacts we're all working so hard for. Stress & resilience both happen at the level of our own nervous systems, putting the power in our hands.

In this experiential power-packed session, you'll learn how to interrupt the stress/overwhelm loop by working with the nervous system, research-based techniques, and the neuroplasticity of your brain to resource yourself for resiliency.

Nelson is author of Getting Your Life in Balance. She has developed a time diet to help manage your time to match your intentions.

Just say “Diversity Training,” and there are several responses. People run and hide. Or say smugly, “Diversity? Oh, we did that.” It’s a check-the-box, one-and-done, and move-on response. There is another response, one of—profound irritation. Some studies have shown that there is little or no lasting effect from diversity training. A third of diversity workers have lost their jobs. WHY?

Is there a future for diversity work in large systems? YES! We know that there is. We will share concrete, workable information with you about the what and why of where we go from here.

Where to begin? Let’s create a new vision grounded in trust and trustworthiness. Trust is critical to effective leadership at all levels and the cornerstone of effective, long-lasting diversity initiatives. It is a necessary component for building authentic relationships across differences.

Building an organization that embraces diversity is vital to the future success of any organization. Advancing DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) to DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice) is the step beyond equity that rebuilds relationships in conflicts, rights wrongs, and seeks reconciliation, forgiveness, and restitution.

Organizations need employee input and grassroots leadership to develop successful Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices.

Who should participate in creating, supporting, or serving DEIJ initiatives? Persons who
    1) demonstrate a positive understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in their thinking and actions, 2) are credible and trustworthy, 3) are in good standing as employees or leaders, and 4) communicate well with people from other backgrounds and cultures.

We will look at how these components are foundational to Advancing DEI in your organization.

Consider the challenges faced by women in the workplace:

Flexible Work ∙ Representation of Women ∙ Gender Pay Gap/Equal Pay ∙ Sexual Harassment ∙ Unemployment Penalty ∙ Pregnancy Discrimination ∙ 'That Time Of The Month' ∙ Women Bosses ∙ Flexible Work Arrangements ∙ Race and Gender Bias ∙ Access to Hot Jobs ∙ Role Models ∙ Sponsorship ∙ Non-inclusive Workplaces.

Whoa! That is a lot to consider. But don’t get discouraged!

Where to begin? We will explore tangible solutions as experienced real-time by our alums.

Then, experience together how to tap into the abundant supply of positive energy within each of us that supports your resilience and ability to thrive.

When you genuinely connect to your true purpose in an atmosphere of trust and presence, you can easily draw on this inner energy available to each of us.

Combined with a sense of being of service in your relationships, community, and world only amplifies this. Create the right intention and mindset from what is at the heart of the matter (your true purpose and calling to be of service in the world).
